Partner Safety recently mobilized a technical ice rescue team to Moosonee, Ontario, one of the most remote communities in the province, accessible only by air or rail. Our team deployed a Rescue Deployment Craft (RDC) and provided ice rescue standby services to support active work operations over frozen water in the James Bay area.

Operating in a remote northern environment with limited access and extreme winter conditions required careful logistical planning and a self-sufficient crew capable of managing all aspects of the operation on-site. This project is a strong example of Partner Safety's ability to mobilize specialized rescue services anywhere the work takes our clients.

The project involved a 155-foot-deep vertical shaft with over 500 meters of horizontal tunnel access to support inspection activities within a complex confined space system.

Partner Safety developed detailed confined space safety and rescue plans, addressing unique vertical-entry hazards, atmospheric risks, and communication challenges associated with deep shaft operations. Our team provided on-site standby rescue coverage, continuous atmospheric monitoring, and safe entry supervision throughout the project.

Staffing and equipment were carefully selected to meet the technical rescue requirements of the site, including high-angle vertical retrieval systems, SCBA/SABA air supply, and advanced rescue rigging setups, ensuring full regulatory compliance and worker protection at every stage.

To ensure a reliable supply of clean drinking water for the growing communities of York Region, the project involved inspecting, repairing, and sanitizing an 8 km-long, 1800mm-diameter primary water supply pipe. 

As part of the rehabilitation effort, Partner Safety prepared safety and rescue plans and provided confined space general safety supervision and standby rescue services for the project.

Partner Safety supported cooling tower maintenance and cleaning operations across Canada, delivering confined space safety supervision, standby rescue services, and tailored safety and rescue plans in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations across all Canadian jurisdictions.
